A year in review

December 26 was the one year anniversary of living in our house! Although it feels like it's gone by very quickly,  we've made a lot of memories and accomplished a lot over the last 12 months.


Jay turned 30 in February and we celebrated by having our friend from Indianapolis surprise him in Pittsburgh.  


In March, I finally painted the powder room the right color (after 4 attempts) and Jay got his miter saw, kicking off the quarter round love story.

April was our niece, Addy's first trip to Sewickley and Jay's first time wearing a Baby Bjorn.


Jay ran a leg of the Dick's Sporting Goods marathon on Cinco de Mayo. Post relay, we hydrated with margaritas.

The beautiful magnolia tree bloomed in June, giving our backyard a much needed beauty boost. The new fence helped too!


Jay & I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary on July 31 by carb overloading at Il Pizzaiolo in Market Square. 


The summer was spent lounging on the front porch in our new furniture and trying our hand at gardening/grass growing.


Fall was a whirlwind, but notably, I got a great new job at the University of Pittsburgh as a Communications Manager, and I launched the new and improved Me, You & Lu blog!

We rounded out the first year in the house with a holiday cocktail party with some of our closest family and friends.


And just for kicks, here is a little Cameo video I put together from clips I took on my iPhone while my family was together for Christmas. Sorry family.

So that's our year in a nut shell. Jay and I have tons of ideas for the house in the new year. We also have a few projects to catch you up on that we completed over the last few months. So happy new  year!  Here's to creative fortitude and infinite energy....we're going to need it!
