Hello? Are you still there? I'd hardly blame you if you've lost interest in the blog. It's been tough trying to squeeze in time to write - let alone come up with anything interesting to say. I've been working on writing Thomas' birth story and getting his 4 month pictures up. Why does everything take about 10 times longer nowadays? Oh right...
Our days have been full as Thomas has outgrown the newborn slumber and demands more interaction. We do the nurse-nap-play circuit endlessly, which I've found to be very fun and very exhausting. Tom's 4th month of life has also ushered in a pretty serious sleep regression. We're talking up once every hour at night. Torture I tell you! Our well meaning pediatrician said it's time for 'Cry It Out'. Easy for you to say, sir. And by the way, wasn't it just yesterday that the advice was to pick up the baby as soon as he cries so that he knows to trust me? What changed? Needless to say, the jury is still out on what I feel comfortable with on the sleep training front.
You'd think with the lack of sleep he'd be a cranky boy and for the most part, that couldn't be further from the truth. He's quick to grin, has an adorable laugh and is quite ticklish. His sweet demeanor gives me the motivation to push through the zombie state and the hope that it's just a phase.
Here's what else we've been up to:
Dressed up as a cow and a sushi roll for Halloween. Surf and turf anyone?
Visited family in DC for Thanksgiving.
Lots of walks
Learning to sit up and jump
Pretty much just livin' the life!
