Tommy was one month on August 17th. This post is a little late since we were heading home from Hilton Head (that's right, he went on his first vaca at 3 weeks old!)
Tommy is growing leaps and bounds each week. At his one month appointment he weighed 12 lbs, 7 oz. and was 24 inches long which puts him in the 98th percentile. He makes so many different facial expressions that make us laugh and change constantly. We've started to see him smile (especially in the morning) and coo.
We've found that movement is the best way to calm our little guy - he loves his car seat, going for drives, and walks in the stroller. We employ all of these methods during his witching hour that peaks at 7 p.m. each night. Otherwise, he is a happy, sweet and lovable baby.
Jay and I are getting the hang of this parenting thing. We've been trying to get out as much as possible with Tommy in order to stay sane and act like normal human beings. It's hard to do some days when we're so sleep deprived we barely remember our names. We've been out to the farmers market, lunches with friends, and tons of walks around the neighborhood. This week Tommy and I went to the mall on our own which felt like a HUGE accomplishment (he did great, slept the whole time!).
All in all we're finally hitting our stride. We feel more much more confident as parents, and less like bleary eyed novices that were handed a baby. Crazy what can happen in a month!
