Sometimes a weekend in the wilderness is just what you need to re-charge. I wouldn’t consider myself an “outdoorsy” girl but when our friends invited us to their annual “Farm Party” in the beautiful mountains near Seven Springs, we jumped at the chance to escape from it all and have some fun in the great outdoors!
My friend Erika has had this home in her family for generations. It’s nestled in a lush valley, which makes it eerily quiet but blissfully secluded. It’s easy to imagine what life might have been like in the “olden days.” Luckily for us, the house has running water, electricity and even internet connection! Whew!
It also has this magnificent pool. How cool is that stacked stone?
The water supply for the pool comes from the natural spring on the property. I don’t know much more about the mechanics of how that works, but I do know that it makes the pool pretty legit in my eyes (Jay could tell you all about it, he was pretty enamored).
I, on the other hand, was smitten with the pool lounge chairs! I could have parked myself there for days!
Other than relaxing by the pool, we played ping pong, chatted by the fire pit, enjoyed a nice dinner and played games.
Unfortunately for Jay, the rule maker during a game of Kings made him wear a beer box on his head.
Before we knew it, it was time to head home, but not before signing the red piano in the living room just as hundreds of other guests had done before us.
Until next time!
