Spring is in full bloom in Sewickley. The trees and the flowers seem like they are in technicolor probably because my eyes are so use to the dreariness of a Pittsburgh winter. Hopefully the gloom is behind us and we can soak up all that spring and summer have to offer. This weekend we had dinner with good friends both nights and filled our days around town. We maximized our outdoor exposure at the farmers market, getting ice cream, buying porch furniture, putting it together and sitting on it as long as we could before the rain came. Here are some highlights.
On our way to the market.
I could smell this the second I walked in to the market.
Gotta have it.
Had it. Reminded me of Greece.
One of my favorite shops in town: House 15143.
And a very thoughtful house warming gift from friends purchased at House 15143.
Ice cream on the steps reminded me that we needed some porch furniture.
"Jay, can we get some porch furniture today?"
He said yes and even put it together! What a guy!
Lu didn’t help.
Ikea furniture is frustrating. I supplied red wine to curb agitation.
Ta da! 2 more chairs to be assembled when Jay regains feeling in his fingers.
So that was it! A very fun and quintessentially spring weekend. This week the nice weather continues (besides today) and our front porch will finally be painted. You didn’t think it was going to stay hot pink did you? Pictures to come soon!
PS - Jay will be running in the Pittsburgh Marathon on Sunday. Cross your fingers for good weather!
